While I will admit to having a low-key Caribou coffee and trash TV addiction, (vanilla iced crafted press and The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills), most of the other parts of my life are pretty down to earth. When I'm not running our homestead or caring for our small children or animals, you can likely find me in the kitchen or wrapped up in a good book. I love trying new recipes, (kiiiind of a foodie), or learning a new skill, (I love crochet!).

It's no surprise my number one favorite thing is my family!
While there's no shortage of characters in this goof troop, being a mom is my number one priority and blessing.
Their outfits may look cute here, but usually you can find them wild and free outside on our small homestead, (probably covered in dirt).
And we wouldn't have it any other way. ;)
Family
Our family LOVES learning and visiting new places. Whether it may be a new state, museum, park, or zoo like you see here; we're always up for a little adventure.
We're all originally from MN, but we've also traveled to Texas, California, Arizona, Florida as a family.
Going on adventures
We have more than a few free range things on our property besides our children!
We have 16 wonderful chickens from which we enjoy our daily fresh eggs from, 2 barn cats and 2 cute pups. We've planted multiple gardens, a berry patch, and a small orchard as well. If that wasn't enough, I have dreams to one day own a dairy cow, as I do most of our cooking from scratch on cast iron.
We love living a natural outdoor lifestyle!

My biggest concerns about taking family pictures is always what to wear and what poses to choose. We want to match without looking like we tried to match and we want to choose poses that don't look posed. Kyla not only dressed our entire family, but the entire photoshoot felt so natural. She knew exactly how to pose us. Her style is so elegant, yet whimsical, all of the shots were so fluid and so perfectly captured "us".

I had a maternity session with Kyla at 37 weeks with my one-and-a-half-year-old son and husband. Being this far along with my pregnancy finding myself ‘beautiful’ has been a struggle. Without knowing our backstory, Kyla quickly made me feel truly beautiful. She gave us so many compliments and made sure that each pose she guided us into was one that I was comfortable being in. My favorite part of the session was seeing my son, Asher, be natural. Kyla is not only excellent at being welcoming and making you truly feel great about yourself-she is professional and prepared.
